You'll never know, till you get there...

There’s more at Qatar’s Museum of Islamic Arts

MIA Park

The 1st big leap

Yes, that was 2006; I left my country and set off to an unknown journey in Qatar. This was my first international flight away…from home. Month after month, then year after year…till I reach a decade in this country.

This is where I started to see the world more, learn cultures and meet interesting people.

So I am backtracking my journey. I am feeling a little bit nostalgic now, of so many memories built throughout those years…

This was previously posted in Doras In Doha,  a Facebook Page that I manage together with 2 great friends.

So today, I’m taking you to MIA! Certainly not missing in action. This is the Museum of Islamic Arts.

You will find various art collections from different periods – ceramics, metal works, Islamic designs and very old manuscripts from all over the world.

Allow yourself to be enveloped with the origins and creativity of the Islamic world.

The museum is located at the heart of Doha – sitting on the waterfront. A very impressive Islamic architecture with geometric patterns.

Outside the museum are a massive park and a waterfront harbor view.

On a lovely weather, it is one of the best places to go for a stroll and there are bazaars with food kiosks. Shop and have a picnic with your friends!

Here is a video from Vic Stefanu, touring you of the MIA. See, how grand it is? And indeed there’s more at Qatar’s Museum of Islamic Arts; aside from art collections, there is the massive park that hosts bazaars, a waterfront view of Doha Corniche, and a lot more!

For events and activities, you can check the schedule on MIA’s website.
